Piro, Thanks for info may try that 8 blow deal---
Question: I know valved bends need to be mellower. Does your 8 draw jam up much? do have to really focus on not drawing to hard?
I guess With flat 7 draw and 8 blow valved the notes from 6 Blow and up , in 2d pos -would be:
6 blow = 1
6 draw= 2/9
6 draw bend= b 2/9
7 blow= 4
7 draw=b3, or minor 3rd
7 blow bend = 3rd
I don’t overdraw it
With 8 valved
8 blow= 6/11
8 draw= 5
8 draw bend = b5
No blow bend now???
Please correct what wrong---I have valves in storage/shop—what glue to use for valve, to try it???

You can't blow bend the 8 blow because it is valved. What I do is open the gap a little on the 8 draw. What I have found is the gaps should be a little more open on the draw reeds if the opposite reed is valved and it could be also true for the blow notes. There is also the occasional problem of valves sticking. One little correction 8 blow 6/13 not 11.

Hi, that's not my understanding of how placing a valve on the 8 blow plate works. The normal blow bend should still be available but in addition you can get a single reed draw bend. The bend which is precluded is the over draw.

Best is a big call. There's a lot of suitable brands. Greg Jones told me he used Elmer's, but I found out there is more than one product matching that name. I've used UHU gel lately. Seems to work well. Also used a Loctite gel product. I think I used Tarzan's Grip at some point but it was rather messy. Lots of stuff works well, the main trick is application and drying time. Super glue type products work well but you don't want instant bond stuff. The super glue gel products give you a bit of adjustment time. Other waterproof glues are fine too but take longer to dry which can also be a problem sometimes especially if your trying to work quickly

My mistake sorry you can blow bend the valved 8 blow, I just never used it in 2nd position.
