I play as a 1 man band and often do bass lines on the guitar and keyboard. Playing racked harp has restrictions unto itself all by itself, and more are added with each instrument added. The brain can only do so much and then it locks up I find. For me the loss of stuff is well worth the trade off to be in control of my groove. Good luck with it and don't give up if you get frustrated with the limitations. Over time you can overcome alot of them. Walter
---------- walter tore's spontobeat - a real one man band and over 1 million spontaneously created songs and growing. I record about 300 full length cds a year.
i tried to listen but it kept on skipping i guess its because its utube peak hours but the harp i heard sounded real powerful, strong tight licks ill have to come back later when utube slows down and give it another listen cause you got me wanting to hear it.
For what its worth, myself and my guitar player friend have done occasional house partys, myself using an unloaded solid empty stereo speaker cab as somewhat of a drum.I stick a 57 inside with a pillow run the patch into the PA.I bring bar back chairs for sitting higher and keep the box below my feet to tap on.Adjusting the levels on the box mike and it gives you a nice booming rhythm and works well,as long as you don,t have the rhythm that Steve Martin had in the Jerk.Speaking of that,I always thought that it was a great part in the beginning of the movie with Sonny Terry/Brownie McGee and Steve Martin jamming on the front porch, when he,s trying to find his rhythm, too short but awesome to see.
