Diggs, I’m glad you responded to what I hoped was gentle prodding. I strive to always take people’s offerings seriously. Its important when saying something negative to offer some ideas on how to improve things.

Matt’s Blues: That’s what I’m talking about! Clearly better second time around. The solo in the first version feels like you are trying too hard to be clever. It starts slowly but quickly descends into disconnected minor notey-ness. The solo in the second version has coherence and it held my attention to the end. Nice.

Telemann: I assume this a piece for recorder? Played fairly pedestrianly. Just because it’s Baroque doesn’t mean it isn’t supposed to swing. Down beats need to be hit harder. Let me hear some emotion.

Blues in G: Good fun, but well within your range, I suspect.

Wow thanks for listening Happy. I was hanging out with the great jazz guitarist Jimmy Bruno once and he said to me you talk a lot of shit can you back it up and then we jammed. He said what a great ear. Happy so can you back up with your playing because you talk a lot of stuff.

Yeah, that was pretty condescending of me. Didn't seem so when I wrote it, I was just being my normal happy self, but reading it now, well, sorry about that.

Good idea, though, about posting some of my stuff.
