The video is aged and scratchy, but the audio is fine for the most part. What's impressive is how tight Bloomer and Butter are--MB is fluid, gritty, expressive and demonstrates a command of nuance and bringing fresh feeling to each solo. There is very little I've seen of Bloomfield playing live, so these videos are a treasure . Butterfield again inspires in this 1971 concert--his playing here further cements my view that he is one of the five most important harmonica players to come along in this grand tradition. Tone, phrasing, his skill of approaching each song uniquely, adjusting his style to fit the tune, the combination of lyric melodicism and ferocity from him--all magnificent to watch and listen to. These are my YouTube discovery of the year.
