That's awesome. The harmonica is clearly good for the mind, body and sole.
The artical reminded me of my father being treated in the hospital with a breathing exercise device called a incentive spirometer. He hated using "that stupid thing". I'm sure he would have done a lot better with a harmonica. I could have gapped one extra wide for a good work out.

I've said this before. I believe playing harmonica may have saved me from breathing issues over many years, 35 of which I smoked. To date, nearing 65, no cardiopulmonary problems.
My paternal grandfather died of tobacco related lung cancer too.
I count my blessings often on this.

My Dad started playing the harmonica when he was 8. Smoked till he was 80, passed away at 97 with never any lung problems. He was still playing his harmonica at 94.

I have emphysema and my spirometry tests always come back with near normal healthy results for my age group. I have no doubt that this is due in no small part to playing harmonica.
