I started posting in 2015 but had been reading the forum for a few months before that. I haven't posted regularly for a while now, nice to be back.

I got back into the harp spring of 2010. I can't find it, but pretty sure I joined around April that year.

Ok. Just checked via the Where y'all From thread. Posted there on 6-22-11 & it was my 7th post. I know I was a lurker long before I first posted. So probably joined around late 2010- early 2011.

Don't remember when it was, only why. I was looking for a harp forum and found many others to be virtually dead. Happened on MBH and saw a flurry of activity with a large following including many well-known and respected players. That convinced me to join. It has been a valuable asset for learning and also for connecting with others.

I want to say I joined up maybe 7 years ago, although it feels like forever. It’s just a routine to automatically check topics every day. I don’t even think about it.

Found my 3rd post from 4/16/10 but lurked for awhile before that. So much information and direction on this site with a wonderful cast of characters.

November 2008.

Adam, I was just this past week thinking about OldWailer and wondering. I was playing a cd of Christmas tunes that he had recorded going back about ten years and sent to me.

He let me flop on his hotel room floor at the '09 SPAH, Good dude.

I think the last thing I knew of him was that he was hitting the road in an RV. That was a while back. I think he stated the launch date and a half-assed itinerary of his forecast meanderings, and I told him he was welcome to park under our apple trees for as long as he wanted, but I don't think I ever heard anything after the supposed departure date.

Anyway, late 2008. That seems like a long time, but doesn't feel like it.

I think it was Confucious who said that life is like a roll of toilet paper, it goes faster as you get closer to the end.

Thanks for the time hosting this.

Originally greyowlphotoart I found my 2nd post on Sep 2010 then changed to Grey Owl later.

The method I used was guessing a year then put in a search for the year say 2011 and my username then discovered I had made quite a number of posts by that year so went back to 2009 which showed no posts at all so tried 2010 and was in luck. you can even guess a month in the year to see if you can fine tune it to get closer to Post 1 (using the month in Jan, Feb.... form)

Using this I found Raven above, but the closest I could get was 28 posts on Mar 29 2015.

This was my first post January 1, 2011..
-----

Marine Band has always been my choice tried a few others but always came back. First post on Adams forum...my introduction to the MB was in Vancouver BC around 1967/68 after going to a Jefferson Airplane concert with Muddy Waters as the opening act which intoduced me to the harp. Next day went to the music store and asked for a Marine Band which was the only name mention and ended up with a 365 (still have it) anyway a week or so later after picking up Tony Glovers book got my short harp.
Purchased a couple of customs from Richard S back in the 90's which were outstanding! However decide to learn how to set my own up.
Way back 16 years or so ago did a have a blues web page during the early days of the net and some of it still exists in an archive..
The old Satan and Adam page is at
http://web.archive.org/web/19991012125100/www.island.net/~blues/s&a.htm

The main page is at

This is an archive and not everything works but there are some photos and such...

I joined near the end of 2014. My inspiration for learning to play was finally seeing J Geils in concert, in November of that year.

I believe I have been a member since late 2014. Anticipating J Geils coming to Detroit that year, was my inspiration to learn to play. It was a great concert by the way. Hope I have that much energy at that age.

eeTech Tom, likely the spamnet filter grabbed your first post, then a moderator checked the box and reinstated it. Nate is pretty good about that but he only checks once per day I think. That thing never catches genuine spam, but it does grab genuine posts sometimes if they are very short or contain links, among some other key triggers probably, all of which genuine spammers learned to avoid years ago and are listed in the official Spamming for Dummies book

Wow...Sept 2009....since then a lot has changed. At that time I was just beginning to play again after an 18 year layoff. Since then.....I'm now playing in a band here in town, have traveled to Mississippi every year since 2010, (thanks Adam) and have made many friends thru the "Blues Community"...I have not been on much lately but am returning !!!
