Has anyone tried RH's Fender Mustang patches?

I am in a position to snag a Mustang III by swapping some gear I no longer use.
I saw the video and I thought that there were one or two nice sounds in there.

Tried the amp with the stock patches through an RE-10 and didn't like it very much.

Any thoughts / experiences very welcome before I make the deal and inform my loved ones that an RH patch set is my preferred Xmas present this year.

Thanks in Advance

I have his Zoom G3 patches and like them, and I've thought about getting a Mustang III and using his patches. My take is that you should go for it, since it costs you gear you no longer use plus $40 (IIRC) for the patches.

I think that the amp needs to be a "V2" for the patches to work. You should check his website and make sure.

I have the B3, which is the bass version of the G3. No patch set but lots of useful stuff in there.

The Mustang turned out to be a version 1. So not suitable. Backed out of the deal. Gave him a mic as compensation. He's OK with it.

It was the Silverstone patch that RH demoed in his video that caught me ear.

I really don't want to get into vintage tube amps. It looks confusing and expensive..

I haven't used them, but I've used his earlier patches for the RP250, and they were great. Imagine if you went to the store to buy an amp, and were offered two Mustang amps: one as is, and one highly optimized for harp, but costing $40 more. I think most players would opt for the harp optimized amp.

This thread made me feel very calcified. I think I kind of know the general sort of idea of what you all are talking about, but not really.

@superbee - The Mustang is a modeling amp, with a bunch of different amp models and effects. You can tweak all the setting by hand, or you can upload patches, which are just sets of settings, to suit your liking. Richard sells sets of patches that are specifically designed to make the amp work well for harp, as opposed the builtin settings that are all for guitar players.
