Wondering if anybody here has built the Lone Wolf design SE6L6

I’m interested in your thoughts about it.
I’m aware mine is built on a pretty cheap and cheerful platform. No doubt it could sound a lot better.

Also interested if anyone here has used a Celestion Tube 10” and whether that is just a poor choice for a harp amp

I compared Celestion Tube 10" frequency curve specs with Eminence Lil' Buddy and Ragin Cajun specs (I prefer the darker Lil' Buddy) and the Tube 10" seems to fall in between them for highs and spikes at 2000hz. I did read a review that said the Tube 10" was viewed as having little headroom.

Some players here have said they like the Ragin Cajun and the higher frequency emphasis, so from the frequency curves I can see no reason the Tube 10" wouldn't work with the right amp.

I have found that the specific mic/amp/speaker match is more meaningful than a general speaker review. It is how all three go together that determines the sound. I have done a lot of mixing and matching with my gear...

I have a push-pull 2-6V6 1961 Gibson Explorer 18T that sounded thin and trebley for harp until I swapped in the darker Lil' Buddy 10" speaker. Now the tone control can be used properly instead of having to roll off all the highs all the time.

It may just be that the SE6L6 would work better with a different speaker... or mic.

Thanks, Doug. I appreciate your comments. I’ll put some time in with this thing and play it through a few different cabs.
