Sounds like an E harp to me. I didn’t hear the part you’re referring to re possible altered tuning, but no doubt you are across it in a lot more detail. I only listened to the intro, stopped listening once the vocal began. I heard that common descending lick he’s using a lot in the introduction, from the 5 drawdown to 2 draw.
