I have been using Teflon gaskets on my golden melodies and they are great. I was wondering if anyone uses any sort of liquid gasket material.

Thanks!

I use aftermarket combs on my Golden Melodys. When I assemble I use a very light coating of vasoline on the comb. Does not gum anything up, and is not permanent. Seals any sanding marks on the drawplate or comb.

How do you like those Teflon gaskets... I’m considering trying a set on a SP 20. Is there a noticeable improvement in air tightness? What kind of longevity do they have.

Gaskets are so 1990s. Better to flat sand the comb.

Winslow is correct and not one reputable harp customizer uses any of these things at all. I wuldn't maste money on them and get it done right the first time. Besides, some of that material can leech out and you may wind up breathing that crap in and that alone is a safety hazard as well as a health hazard.

I once used silicone on a Johnson. Very aromatic.
