It does sounds good, I could gig with that tone. I am going to buy the Mosky XP booster. It cost $20 and if it sound like this, it would be an awesome purchase. ---------- Sorry for any misspell, english is not my first language.
Thank you for that Littoral. Sounds like a pretty good useable sound. Similar sound to a Boss GE7 direct into the PA. Might have to look into getting one
Rogonzab, I have the Mosky XP and mine has always had a buzzing sound to it regardless of what power supply I use. It doesn't run off a battery unfortunately either . The Xotic though will also fit a battery inside for an even simpler setup/carry in. So it may be the better buy.

and then reverse the polarity (cut the wires, solder the red whit the black, and the black whit the red) and you are ready to go. That battery adapter works perfect (I made one for myself)
I just finished building a USB to 9v adapter, so I can use any cell phone external battery to run my pedals. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g6a589hrdij7rv7/67559376_858671454502307_2672965505026883584_n.jpg?dl=0
It is a more complicated approach but not by that much. ---------- Sorry for any misspell, english is not my first language.

Rogonzab, interesting solution. Might try that. Yesterday I tried my Mosky with the 18v power supply I use for the Harp Attack and it didn't make any buzzing noise at all. Yet does with other power supply I've tried. Very strange.

What do you think of the Mosky XP in terms of tone? Do you think that add something? Not just volume right? ---------- Sorry for any misspell, english is not my first language.
I'd be interested in a comparison between the Mosky and the Xotic. I don't have the Xotic - I have a Zoom simulation of one and the Mosky. But the Xotic is the one that all the fuss is about.
I think what's happening with these boosters is that they let you overdrive whatever is next, and to tweak that to some subjective sweet spot. So you can get an interesting and useful sound out of pretty much anything.
But it's going to be different for everyone, depending on what's next in the chain. So it's less to do with the booster and more to do with the other kit.
This example of overdriving a clean powered speaker sounds pretty harsh to my ears but I'm sure it could be a useful musical sound in a band setting.

I put it last in the chain and set the amp pretty clean. When I step on it the amp is overdriven I guess that it will work for solos.
The amp is a Peavey Valve King Royal 8 with all sorts of mods for harp. I know others leave the Xotic on all the time but I am more interested in dynamics. I think the amp will already have a harp friendly eq and I can set the volume/gain for constant overdrive if I want.
I've not tried boosting other pedals or any of that clever stuff - I'm already pretty confused.
There were no instructions so I googled the pdf for the Xotic and set the dip switches to 'Vintage.'
