As George Clinton was for me in Detroit, Art Neville (and his family) was for everyone else. RIP

Hey. I got an Art Neville story....back in the day, when I was first call piano tech (and also CP-70 Yamaha Electric Grand renter) for shows like this in Detroit, the Neville Brothers contract rider called for this CP-70 to be used at one of their shows.

Well, I provided the unit early and decided to hang around to meet them and watch the show. When they started to arrive, Aaron and one of the other brothers came up to me, pulled me aside, and told me "Hide that piano before Art shows up....we don't like his piano playing near as much as his organ playing - if he don't see it, he won't miss it!".

So, I did.

(Still got paid for the rental, though).
