Got my plane ticket and hotel room booked. Passed all my medical tests and they say I'm doing good. Having some problems signing up for SPAH itself.

I signed up and then booked my room online early. I will be driving and arrive Monday evening.

I hope to see and hear you at SPAH again this year!

I'm still waffling on whether or not I want to spend the money, but Tulsa is just a 4 Hr. scooter ride North for me.

Tony - will you be bringing the entire Trio, of will it be just you?

Tony showed - he seemed to have a young man usually playing with him, but not sure if it was one of his Trio.

I met a few folk from this list there - having poor memory retention, can't remember many names, but it was a fun hang.

The "secret special guest" was Carlos Del Junco, btw...

Iceman, it was great meeting you. I can't remember your website, though.

Philosofy - web site is OliveAffairs.com

scojo - fun in the jam circle - never saw anyone play harmonica as vertical as you....unique original style!

btw, keep an eye on a very young man who now lives in Portland, OR, by the name of Luke Anthony....check out his youtube videos, too.

Luke is the guy who shows up to SPAH without a room and expects people to put him up.

Iceman: Thanks so much. I really enjoyed the little of your playing that I got to hear. I agree about Luke... excellent player with top-notch technical ability.

I had a great time at Spah this year. If any of you were at the Hohner Electrified Blues Jam on Wednesday Night, and stayed to the end, or almost to the end, you will understand. If not, lets just say, it was one of the more interesting times in my harmonica career.

I enjoyed running into a bunch of you during SPAH!

I enjoyed meeting Iceman and hearing him play. I enjoyed talking to scojo and again hearing his unique style. Diggs is great on diatonic and chromatic. His chromatic skills are off the charts!

There were many great musical performances and jams during SPAH featuring all kinds of harmonicas and many genres. I always become exhausted at SPAH trying to keep up with all the workshops and musical opportunities.

My two favorite workshops at the Teach-Ins were Rob Roy Parnell's working on helping non-singing harp players start singing and for singers to learn how to comp and fill on harp during spaces when singing. I will start using this latter approach on at least a couple songs a set.

The other surprise teach-in was a small group of 5 or 6 with Peter Madcat Ruth in which Carlos de Junco had joined. Jerry Fierro also was in the group. There was amazing discussion of how they learned and Peter explained how he went from Sonny Terry to jazz. At the end there was a demonstration with Peter and Carlos playing a basic blues together, each backing the other and taking turns on solos in their own styles. Wonderful!

I attended the Filisko/Noden duo workshops and a Richard Sleigh Hot Rod Your Harmonica seminar. Great stuff!

There were many great concerts during the afternoon and evening.

Lots of music, lots of meeting up with great players, lots of workshops, not so much sleep despite trying to catch Zs here and there as I could.

I could not be at all the good events and again found I just had to pick and choose what I could, probably missing some good performances and workshops.
