Hey folks,
I'm in the market to get a small 12" combo (5 to) 15 or 20 watt and looking at the Victoria amps as there's a variety of low powered amps they sell.
I'm looking for good bottom end similar to what I get from a discontinued 14 watt Ed amp (made in Canada and that I used on the Blues Mongrel CD) that I own. I'm also not into super traditional over distorted "brown" sounds that small amps like what the Champ do...kind of a one trick pony (even if it's a fantastic trick!) and I need more versatility tonally speaking. I don't care if it has tremolo or reverb.
Does anyone own any of these amps (mentioned below) and can vouch for them ... and that follow suit to what I just mentioned above?

Also, there were a couple posts on this forum about a guy in New Orleans that plays a really sweet sounding small combo Victoria amp. Does anyone know who that player is, or what amp model is..? I use to use a Victoria five watt with a 8 inch speaker and it was a tone monster...when the owner of Victoria Amps sent
It to me he had a note on the inside that it was a Fire Breathing Monster and it was...never heard a five watt amp that loud and with such tone for days....I used it along with a Valve Junior and could be heard even with a loud band...when I stopped gigging I sold it and I regret that decision...

Victoria Amps was one of the sponsors used in SPAH 1998 - owner worked with me to bring in Nick Moss as part of the Kim Wilson back up band.
I hope Carlos was able to demo his amps way back then.

Thanks all for chiming in. I just went with a Victoria 20112 model at 14 watts - the Fender Tweed Deluxe recreation - got to play thru one and loved it. I already have three 5 to 10 watt amps and not as much a fan of the 1 power tube "brown" Chicago sound one tends to get from these amps.

It is reassuring to me that a player of your stature shares my opinion about the expressive limitations of amps limited to that "brown" sound. It makes me feel validated.
I have long preferred the sound of those push-pull tube amps that can be made to break up or to sound warm and clean as needed. I really like my tweed circuit '61 Gibson Explorer GA-18T for an amp that size and have others as well. It was originally too bright, but a speaker swap took care of that.
Many players swear by single ended amps' "brown sound." They have their place, but to me they are too limiting.
