Thank you all for your feedback! I listened a lot to Charlie Musselwhite in the 80s and 90s and I continue to do so. He has played Help me in 3rd pos since the 60s until now, different versions all the time and it always sounds great. I would have been disappointed if this forum hadn't heard Baked potato. It's about the only thing I can borrow from JR. I really love my new Hohner Rocket Low F, I will use it as much as possible. Alan Wilson always sounds cool! I heard some other song also, not only On the road again, where he uses a harp with draw hole 6 raised a half step to make it possible to reach the same note as OB6 but much much smoother.

groyster1...the version of Rice Miller's "Help Me" that I am familiar with sure sounds like a Bb harp to me...he's playing minor in cross harp. But there may be another version I am not aware of? I am thinking of the Chess Records' studio version. Hakan's version is very cool, nice controlled slow burn on the low F. Speaking of 3rd position on the Help Me riff...someone on this forum recently posted a video of Gary Primich doing a song called "Sadie" that was basically the Help Me-style structure and he was playing in E on a D harp...it was masterful 3rd position stuff...really killer, outside the box playing and he didn't use any overblows or anything, just masterful blues harp playing...
