Hello, I have some EDHarmonicas keys of C G and Bflat. If I was gonna play to some jam tracks would it be the same as for normal harp tuning? As for key of c music in c for first position and g for second position?

What's an ED harmonica?

ED harmonica is a different tuning named Easy Diatonic. I am not very musically knowledgeable but if you look at edharmonica.com the website explaines what it is.

I am a little weak on theory, but it looks like you have a G chord all over the place on draw. All I can say is give it a try. Their website has a bunch of Soundcloud clips in different key examples which I believe are on a C harp, but maybe not. If that's the case, you could transpose easily enough with an Excel spreadsheet.

As in all alternate tunings,it's not going to be the panacea. It will have it's own set of limitations. I don't doubt it opens up some new possibilities.

I am a little perplexed by their business model. They are sending you to Amazon and Seydel to buy the harps. What are they selling, lessons?

Not much help, I'm back to "give it a try". Trust your ear.

Key of C is Am blow, G draw.
This tuning omits the F note from the major scale.
I made one, but it wasn't easy, since there is no breath direction shift on the top (7-10 on a regular short harp have the breath pattern reversed--I really hope everyone on this list is aware of that).
So you could create whatever key you wanted, but it looks like Seydel will do it for you.

I still have a ways to go on a regular harp, but I find the ED is much easier to play to me. I can improvise and play to backing tracks and to me sound pretty good. Still learning it and all but in the short time I have been playing it I feel I am a much better palyer on it than I am on a regular harp which I have been for a little over two years. I am having a lot of fun with it. I play only for my own enjoyment.

It occurred to me that this tuning is the same as the first octave of Paddy Richter, across the full range of the harp.

I thought the ED harmonicas were a little too floppy to play with...

Question. Are ED harmonicas only for men who struggle with ED? I am asking for a friend.

Tell your friend playing the skin flute would be better for him.

Yes, you can use backing tracks with the same key as Richter Harps. I play ED harmonica exclusively and there is a long thread about it in Brendan Powers Forum:
