Well i dunno but demonstrating pedals using a crystal and a black CR doesn't really give us mere mortals a chance to evaluate the pedal setup. Plus on the second video can't hear what you are saying at all. But i did like the tone you were getting.

@indigo Thanks for posting the videos. I do have a version of the recordings where the speaking as loud but then the differences in sound of the effects etc is even less clear. I could also have just recorded the audio on a four-track and posted that, which offers the clearest impression of the sound differences. There is probably a better way of doing it but I don't know how. Still, I think those interested in the pedals, amp or mics can take something away. That is also the problem i have with the demo videos on YouTube - they don't really help with hearing the sound. A friend of mine, Thomas Feldmann, does a series of amp presentations on YouTube under the name of Harpsucker. It is great to see these old amps but I get little impression of how they actually sound. Still, great to see.
Re mic: I was primarily aiming a blues-playing audience which, certainly in the world I inhabit, overwhelmingly play through either Astatic or Shure elements. There are a few that use Greg's adapted dynamic mics (Jason is one, although I'm not sure what he uses nowadays) Certaibly, if you are after the "traditional" sound, Astatuc and Shure are still the default elements.
@harpoon_man The AGB+ and MidBass seem to do similar things but actually complement each other very well. I don't know enough about what technically happens but they do have a different effect. That being said, I don't always use ALL these pedals. It depends on the amp, mic, room etc. The one I would never want to be without is the AGB+ as it allows me to make any amp sound good. I can live without the Midbass Cut, delay and the BBE, although they all definitely do something good and may be worthwhile investments for some here.
