A great loss to the blues community.

Michael Ledbetter, a gifted vocalist and guitarist, and a rising star in the blues world, has died suddenly at the age of 33.

We saw him with Mike Welch in Clarksdale a few years ago and rediscovered him on cable blues tv last year. Surely one of the best of the latest iterations of blues singers, and paired and teamed with some great talent.
There goes a real blues man.

I heard "from an anonymous source" that it was some kind of a seizure....very sudden....no verification, though.

Here is a good interview with Michael Ledbetter. He was a terrific singer, I will always remember his "debut" at The Chicago Blues Festival Tribute to Otis Rush, you just knew this man was on his way to greater notoriety and was the vanguard of a new generation of Blues artists. He was a clean living sort, into weight lifting, tragically cut down just as he was reaching stride. Condolences to his family and friends.

I saw him in Kansas City with The Nick Moss Band several year back. He had a great voice and played a mean guitar.
