My name is Gabe and I know nothing about blues music nor do I claim to have any knowledge of the genre. Besides thinking that anything associated with blues is COOL what I actually know is nothing. With that being said here is my issue. Recently I've come to possess a blues Hohner harmonica that I purcchased from a homeless man that I've known for about a month. I've bought things from him before and managed to turn a profit because I often buy to sell at our local swapmeet here in Hawaii. One day he handed me a Ziploc sandwich bag that had a harmonica in it, thinking nothing of it, on the outside of the bag written on a blue piece of tape was Chrissie Hynde The Pretenders Concert Feb 14. I vaguely remembered who they were, because of their song, "Back on the chain gang" which was popular when I was in intermediate. To make a long story short, I'm looking for provinance, if any?, as well as anyone interested in buying this piece of blues history

Chrissie did play harp on some stuff and it was sort of the blues style. That said she's not a blues gal really, more rock/pop imo. "Get in the Road" is probably her most memorable harp part. If it IS her harp that's pretty cool.

I would not try playing that harp if you want to maybe sell it as a music icon. If you do happen to want to learn about blues and blues harp this is a good site here. Free stuff plus a lot of lively discussion. Well managed so very little flaming.

Harmonicas don't have serial numbers so there is no way to conclusively determine who owned it. If she didn't sign it I think you are out of luck. As a used harp, it is probably only worth the 2 bucks you paid for it.

I'll be the first to admit that money was the first thing on my mind but my second thought was being fair to the homeless man. Somewhere along the line in my brain 30 to 50 flashed in my head so I offered him 25 and he took it, in retrospect , a little too quickly but hey, I've been on that side of the fence, homeless that is. In any case the amount I gave him was far from what you assumed and just for today I will close with. Sincerely, IBEETSU LOL!
