I liked it; good playin---cool beat and rhythm--really good vibe
is that duct tape, holding the condenser to pole or mic stand?
If it is -----WAY COOL--I love duct tape and drywall screws---I could build a house with those
Do u boost volume after recording or was it recorded hot--only reason I say that is cuz I always invite constructive criticism, about especially recording.
Pt is; the playing was really good, but the recording was too hot-- blurred together---like I said Im learning the best way to record my self and its not easy --
Im learning with touchy condenser mics i DONT WANT IT TOO HOT---would rather boost a clean signal
what program did u mix on?
recording myself lately has been humbling --when playing live a mistake, quickly pass's---on a recording ---I have to hear my inadequacy over n over again
watched again yr singing through bullet--disregard half my bs--that could be the sound yr going for--try moving mic further away
Some cool stuff there. Jolene and I do a couple sort of similar we've written but not quite as hill countryish. We like the Raw Real Right now concept of recording as live and keeping it as live as possible, even onto CD or doing video. Most of our videos have been acoustic and most of our CD stuff has been lightly mixed and mastered, but with the understanding that we want it to sound like "you're there".
Good work guys! ---------- Music and travel destroy prejudice.
Thanks! Ya this was recorded in a pro studio in nashville but to an old tape recorder. The dirty and raw sound is what we were going for. I agree that it came out quite hot and the engineer told us the pots malfunctioned at times. We just did a quick 2 hour session so it was all first take after set up. My mic is held together with duct tape at least. This was mixed from the tape directly into pro tools. Recording and mixing was all very fast and not perfect of course :)
I'd never heard of raw, real, right but now I'll have to look it up. Cool!
@Michael, Raw Real and Right Now is my own concept. Not really original but the title kind of says it all. I expect it may be the title for the next CD here. ---------- Music and travel destroy prejudice.
