My wife, who doesn't know a thing about harps, wanted to surprise me with a harmonica for our anniversary. I like to buy from Rockin Ron's, but had a Seydel Session Steel in my Amazon wish list. She ordered from there and was so excited when the package arrived.

But when she opened it, Amazon had sent Session Steel reed plates only. She actually cried.

I returned the reed plates and told her I would order what I wanted from RR's. As fate would have it, I got to get the Summer Edition with only 2 days to spare! Now we are both happy, as I was not planning on buying any new harps this year.

Sweet! You have a very nice gal there, like my Jolene. She lets me buy what I need and I let her buy the guitars she needs and it works tremendously well. We've been a duo for about 13 years now.

Cool. And now she knows a little more about harmonicas. I love that she actually cried because it ment so much to her. Wait, is this your 10th anniversary (tin) as in tin sandwich? Keep up the good work!

The first time my wife attained a meaningful understanding of the instrument was when one of her girl friends (an aspiring player) asked me about her new set of Lee Oskar's. We spent the evening tinkering and talking about harmonicas. Prior to that night my wife had no idea.

It took a little time but my wife has become a great fan. Athough she has never went so far as to pick out a new harp for me she often searches out harmonica and blues festivals for use to go to.

BTW, I like the look of the current Seydel Summer Edition. I hope it also plays well in the fall...

It's about time I got around to this.

It's great she went to the extra effort; and that you ultimately had a happy ending.

My wife knows I'm impossible to shop for (because I don't need a lot of "stuff") and hates online shopping so last year she asked if I could just order what I wanted and she'd cover costs. I had Gnarly build a Manji for me to use on Brubeck's "Take Five", which is in Eb minor. Not exactly a birthday surprise but she was happy I was happy.
