Last weekend I was encouraged to play Harmonica for family and friends by a very musical friend at a soirée we were having. So I opened with Supertramp, School Into Gussows power harp riff Then into Stone fox chase- in UK we know it as theme for the Old Grey Whistle Test The Gussows, I got you , I feel Good Finished with Gussows Swinging happy birthday
I am 55 and this is my first public/ family performance I had had a ball Backed up by Vinyl & My musical friend followed all on the clarinet, a moment of genius as he did not know what I was as going to do play or what notes I was going to play and he still managed to play that notes I didn’t.
Adam Gussow you are my inspiration and my teacher, thank you, thank you, than you!
Also to all the other on line guys and girls that have encouraged out there and on this site, thank you
And also to my outstanding musical friend, thank you, he is not on this site but I know lots of you out there will be encouraging in a similar way.
I FEEL GREAT

Way to go---Its fun to put it out there
I believe some people only do what they know they can do. Never lay it on the line--
Beezle bob took a challenge as well and had success
To me playin in front of people is a blast-- U do all this hard work n study and then put it out there
Playing in front of people, at times humbles me---other times it makes me glad I practiced so much. BUT EITHER WAY I GET THE ADRENALINE RUSH OF ' iM PUTTING IT OUT THERE, WIN OR LOSE".
A strong principle Ive learned is " over learn the song at home because when I finally do it in front of people:
1] I get nervous(fun) and that effects my muscle memory, wind and playing in general
2] So the first time I play the song in front of people Im not let let down that I didn't do as well as I did at home--Of course not Im nervous
3] Each time I do it after that it gets closer to the feeling of "playing at home"
4] I learn that its a good song for me or not a good song for me
WAY TO GO--

Cheers Snowman I appreciate the input The more I play the easier it gets to play those songs , so then I try something a little harder. I saw the Beezle bob post , good for him Thanks for the 4 pointers , I am currently doing a lot of practice at home, and the more I do the more I love it.
