I have been thinking about buying maybe a couple of harps for more country style playing.
I was thinking of Lee Oskar Melody Makers but open to other suggestions
What would be the most common keys to go for? I doubt they'd be A, D, but maybe G in the mix

I would start with a G (made from a C)--they are labeled in G and Am by Lee Oskar.

I picked up a Hohner Special 20 in the key of C (Country Tuned). I believe the 5 draw is tuned up a half-step to an F#.

I bought it specifically to play Charlie McCoy's version of Georgia On My Mind.

That's the key I am recommending.
Here is the continuum, by my reckoning.
Country Tuned--raise 5 draw to F#.
Paddy Richter--raise 3 blow to A.
Double Country--5 and 9 are both raised to F#.
Melody Maker--all of the above.
Major Cross--all of the above, plus raise blow 1 to D, draw 1 to E, and 10 blow to B.
All of this on a C harp--for our purposes.
