The amp will take either 6l6 or 6v6 power tubes with a flip of a switch. Some amps you can use 5581/6L6gb & 6L6gc tubes (all 3 types) other amps 6L6gc only. I bought the amp used with no manual with it. It would be nice to hear from someone who owns or has owned a Meteor Mini Meat amp with the 3 speakers for first hand knowledge.

Well, i build, mod and repair tube amps but have never owned a Mini Meat. I guess that makes me unqualified to respond!

http://joesbluesblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/meteor-mini-meat.html Check out this blog. I believe Joe is a frequent visitor to this site. The blog says that a 5881 can be used.

Thanks Jaybird , I also found some pics on reverb of a mini meat that sold and the pics show 5881 tubes in it. So it looks like it may be okay to use the 5881. I heard the tone is awesome with 5881 tubes and I would like to try them out. Looks like they are pricey though.
