Does anyone know if version 4 is better than version 3 for Harp?

Which would you choose between the:

Fender Pro Junior IV
or
Fender Blues Junior IV?

Blues Jr is more versatile and has reverb

Pro Jr is more of a 1 trick pony

I love my Pro Jr. I changed the pre-amp tubes from 12AX7 to the following:

V1=12AU7
V2 = 12AT7

I also made some capacitor value changes, but mainly its the tube changes that make it work well for harp. It sounds great and is relatively feedback resistant. I turn mine up past 8 with no problem.

I had a Pro Jr. it’s sounded fine. It wasn’t loud enough. I used a 12ay7 and a 12ax7 as suggested by BBQ Bob. I swapped in a Weber 10A125-O with an H dust cap. I flipped it for a Harpgear Double Trouble and some cash. I’ve played thru several Blues Jr’s. I like those, too.

Used a Pro Jr for years. Good amp. Would happily use one again. Like Joe, I swapped out V1 for a 12AY7.
