I've been trying to decide between a Suzuki Sirius and the Symphony, I do believe my mind is made up. The tone comparison with the Saxony is really surprising the tone is softer and more mellow, and at the same time it has a more powerful sound.
Seydel made a point of creating a mellow-sounding instrument with the Symphony Grand. I noticed it when I tried them out at the 2017 SPAH convention. Some players really like that aspect, while others prefer to have the treble component which they can then filter at will with hand and oral cavity shaping.
While I like the Symphony Grand, I'm still happy with my Sirius 64 and my Frankenharp straight-tuned 64x
There's another review, with lots of back-and-forth commentary, on Slidemeister:
The aluminum comb version will push out a bit more treble than the version with the lucite comb will. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte
nice review. I wish Seydel didn't sell the case with the harmonica as it would lower the price point 100$ or so. But thats my only quibble. But there are clearly lots of upsides you have pointed out in your clip.I cross posted your review at Slidemeister forum, on the post Winston mentioned. Again, nice review Boris, and as always, nice playing.
