Over the years I´ve occasionally downloaded some audiofiles from Youtube, just for my own enjoyment or for being able to slow down a musical passage or some such. The site I used is now down, and when I try to find new ones I get viruses, sites that gives me audio + pictures, sites that don´t work at all and sites that require payment. It´s not that important -- I have no intention of starting to make records of crappy YT sound (which also would be illegal) -- but I miss the opportunity not to get an audiofile.
Anyone know of a good, simple, virus-free (the last one I entered was *bad*: computer lockdown etc) and money-free site for this?

If you're on Android, there is an app called NewPipe which is an open-source interface to YouTube. It allows you to download both video and audio. Not sure if it's on the Play store, you might have to sideload it.

@eebadeeb: Hm, I use Audacity quite a lot for recording. How do you set it to catch sound from the computor, if you can say off the cuff?
@pythonbeg: Sadly, my current phone is a piece of junk -- but I´ll remember that when I upgrade.

looks like you've got it figured out via Audacity but here's a site that will do it for you and I can confirm no viruses/works fine.
