Martin i've always quite enjoyed your posts re gear and your self confessed ignorance of all things technical.
But holy shite man you don't need any fancy gear/plugs/pedals/amps and such like.
Just use the rig you've got in the video. You must be able to turn that up in any PA without feedback?
Anyways very nice playing.

@dougharps & 1847 @Barley & Indigo: Thank you guys.

That small addition from the AS pedal (bass and, it should be mentioned, a touch of "colour") actually goes a long way from the relative dryness of the PA plain and simple.
If I could push up the volume enough to be heard, I´d probably settle for this solution: it has (when closely cupped) enough grit to make it passable as a blues sound.
The problem however is that I get feedback when I try to reach those loud blues guys´ volume levels even when my sound is as discreet as it is here ...

Maybe, just maybe, a DI box after the AS will take care of that, and I´m looking forward to the delivery of this gadget.

My suggestion with the DI box that you waiting surely will help you but isn't said y'll have no feedback at all. Have you tried a different mic also? The mic can do a terrible difference in term of feedback also (as well as in term of sounds).

Anyway, very good play! :D

@Dox: Thank you, yes I have worked my way around all my six or seven mics: the EV is just about as resistant as the Audix FB -- but the EV has a bit more warmth.

And no, I don´t have any Messianic expectations from this new DI box, I´m a realist in these matters, but it´s an inexpensive option and needs to be tried out.

In any case, the DI box will allow you to have a correct setup for PA. Maybe will not tame down the feedback in all cases, depends on situation, but will help. If you have ordered another milemium DI box unfortunately you have no ATTENUATION trim. Set this kind of trim in the last DI box on pedalboard help a lot to tame down the feedback.

Oh, you lost me there, Dox ... "attenuation trim"? But I will check it out with my tech guy, a friend who knows quite a bit about these things.
Thanks for all your input here, much appreciated.

yes Martin, some good DI box has attenuation trim which basically lower the volume before entering on the combo or amp in general, like this one:

https://www.thomann.de/it/palmer_pdi09.htm

this attenuation help to tame down the feedback: basically the anti-feedback units works in this way like the lone wolf mojopad deluxe or the squeal killer (which use a valve to break down the volume before entering to the preamp stage).

Back in the 70`s I used a F.Champ, for a wile.I had it up about 4ft. and had a direct box ,plus a mic. going into the P.A.It sounded good and going into the P.A. ,I had all the volume I wanted ,so having two channels, one amp tone, mic. and straight from the harp tone, sounded good...

@Dox: OK, that was a slightly more expensive DI box. I will bring the subject up with my tech guru and then maybe put it on a wishing list. (And I seem to recall that he said nice things about Palmer, but when I balked at the cost of such a one (some 50 Euros) suggested the Milennium as a passable replacement.)

@nowmon: Well, as you can see above, I´ve pretty much exhausted that option -- and once again, this band is really, I mean really, loud.

Unfortunately this type of DI box are expensive a little but y'll have some benefits to don't underestimate. Good luck!
