Thanks for sharing that. It is a thoughtful article that is useful even outside the music business. I am in the middle of a job search now and the comments about that were applicable to my situation.

I particularly liked this comment "So before figuring out how manage difficult people, it’s best to check in and make sure you are not yourself a difficult person. "
Unfortunately,those most in need of this advice will probably not be able to see themselves clearly.

Amen to that one, STME58!!!! How true that is!!! The most difficult people I've dealt with aren't club owners or promoters and they can be difficult, but often times when I hosted jams for a year, the worst were often other jammers, especially the types that an old pro used to call "no talent divas," the types who think they're stars but ain't got the stuff to back it up with.

Dealing with musicians in general can be challenging. How do you get a musician to complain? Give him a gig.

Mostly with difficult people I just rip em a new asshole and bust em in the chops. Most more then less are desererving
