Here are a couple of interesting and detailed videos on Vibrato Technique by the great Carlos Del Junco. He has a very easy going and friendly and informative manner in explaining harp techniques.
I have become increasingly interested in the embouchure or mouth/Jaw vibrato recently, as it is more subtle and possibly more easily controlled than the throat vibrato and works better on the higher notes.
Embouchure Vibrato
The following technique is more commonly used in playing blues.
Choke Vibrato
Here are two more videos looking into breaking down solos (the example here being a Paul De lay solo) Carlos is using a program called 'Transcribe' which seems to be pretty neat but I guess you could use Audacity with a little more work required. I am showing links to videos 4 and 5. Video 5 looks into learning a solo from the end back to the start. Not a new concept but it is interesting and makes sense so I think I'll try it.
It's comforting to watch others particularly of his experience transcribing a solo. I'm becoming more and more comfortable with the process. I utilize amazing slow downer for the process which lacks the visual representation but works just fine. I don't think I could commit to memory a part of a solo in one practice session I tend to write down my note choices and move to next phrase. I think down the solo in reverse would drive me more batty then I already feel as well.
I have been enjoying his lessons as well. The putting it together backwards was new to me, but makes sense. I use amazing slow downer on my phone, so it is a little different process but much the same.
