Ray Davies, that is. The knighthood is mostly a way of recognizing that he's a freaking genius songwriter, but he does play simple but effective harmonica from time to time. Nice going, Q of E!

IMO, he (and Kinks) deserve wider recognition - especially for (maybe) being the first rock band to embrace sarcasm and humor in the songs. Also, band was way more unbelievable live than the recordings...Ray on stage with ICE CREAM WHITE SUIT and tons of charisma.

The Kinks pretty much popularized thePower Chord to rock music. Listen to the power chord on "AllDay, All Night", duplicate that on harp and you've got a good rythem base.
