I finally digitized a recording I've been in awe of all these years. If you've never heard of or are unfamiliar with the playing of Chikara Tsuzuki, you're in for a treat. Check out the head; then cut ahead to the 3:00 point. He's playing first position without overblows.

Here's a video that does him credit, too. His blues sound, cross harp, doesn't immediately impress me. But then he gets warmed up, and man! He's got some moves.

Very cool. Pretty hard to be original these days, but this guy is (was). Is he still around?

Remarkable.
Also remarkable, in another way, that he is not very well known. Or at least I hadn“t heard a word of him when I saw that clip from "The Lost Wandering Jazz and Blues Band" the other week.
