I know that everyone loves vintage jensens, but is there any pecking order for the rest of them? CTS, Utahs, Oxfords etc.

That is tough to determine for me because different amps/cabs give different results. I used 12" Utahs in a Silvertone 1484 and in a Duel 212. I liked them in both amps mostly because I like the breakup on the Utahs. The Duel was warmer and the Silvertone was more midrange. I realize that doesn't answer your question. I hope others will chime in. ----------

My favorite vintage speaker is this local guy in my Toastmasters club. He was in the Vietnam war and last Tuesday he gave a great speech about the importance of family values in establishing a new business. You know, to attract and retain good employees, as well as to build a brand that the public can trust.
Since he was in Vietnam, I guess that he is old enough to qualify as vintage. ---------- Marc Graci YouTube Channel

@ Orphan - Was that a Peavey Duel 212?
@Paul45 - I have cannibalized old organs for their speakers for a couple of home built amp projects. The ones I've gotten have Alnico magnets, intact cones, years of moderate volume break-in, and are, for all practical purposes, pristine. That does not answer your question on the pecking order of vintage speakers, but it is a good source for vintage speakers in good condition.
" cannibalized old organs " - Now that's a Heathen activity if I ever heard one.

I am always on the lookout for a Peavey Duel. I hope I find one while I can still carry it.
