Hi I've been admiring the Blue Moon Brass Marine Band combs and have considered giving one a try.
Can anyone tell me the weight in grams - didn't see the info on the site (I may have missed it).
Also, do you know if anyone is selling these in the UK or will I need to order from across the pond?
Thanks in advance!

I weighed a Blue Moon double reed plate Special 20 with an anodized aluminum comb 105grams. I would offer that a brass comb alone would be between 70-85g.

I do not have anything to weigh the comb with but I will say that it is (Blue Moon Brass Comb) my favorite out of MANY harmonicas and various combs..Mine has (A) Special 20 reed plates and it is like driving a Italian sports car..very responsive and perfect in every way for my style of playing :)

Brass combs are MUCH heavier than aluminum combs and they sound brighter than aluminum combs do.

Some years ago I made my own sets of brass combs. They're not as pretty as Blue Moon's or Chris Reynolds', but I like them. One thing about them: they are HEAVY as a set. Like, my Seydel harp bag that holds 12 harps weighs 5 pounds. I made a beautiful customized harp case (like the ones Slim used to make), and, while a traditional harp stays in the slots just fine, the brass ones fall out due to their weight. I put a lot of time, effort, and love making my brass combs, but there are practical drawbacks. On the other hand, if you get in a bar fight, one in each fist packs a wallop!
