Wife and I spent 3 days in Helena last weekend. Mostly on Cherry Street. A friend has a storefront on York and Cherry and invited us to play a set on both Friday and Saturday, which was nice. Had a fine time. Later on Saturday, we were walking around and I had a few harps with me. As we approached the storefront we'd played at there was a trio playing, 2 guitars and a harp guy who was also singing. Big crowd out front. The Arkansas Brothers from the northwest corner of the state. The singer was yelling for harp players to "come on down" and the guitarists were laying down a I-IV-V thing. About 6 or 7 harp guys did in fact come on down and mics were passed around. Everybody got a shot. An Italian guy who looked like a carny/biker/hippie, at least 2 guys I know from around Little Rock, and several others, ending off with Deak Harp.
So we all got a double turnaround to strut our stuff with Deak finishing up. The crowd ate this stuff up! I think most of the harp guys caught a buzz off the whole thing as well. It was a high point for sure of a great weekend.

Deak also hosted a jam Thursday at Ground Zero in Clarksdale, which was a gas as well.

Over all this was for me and Jolene the best Biscuit we've ever attended.
