So just out of curiosity, What are the best speakers you have used in your amps?
What kind of amp? Why do you like it? ----------

I have a real mish-mish collection of speakers. When I buy new ones I go to Weber.
I have always wanted to experiment with WGS speakers, but speaker experimenting can get expensive real fast.

+1 TH on the expense of experiments with speakers. I think TetonJohn made some careful comparisons at one time.
I can say that replacement of original speaker in my Silverface Princeton Reverb, with a Weber 10A125-O was a big improvement.
I have a pair of smooth cone Weber 8A100 speakers in a 4 ohm cab and I like it. I used to use that box with an Epiphone valve junior and it was pretty cool.
I have a Weber sig8 in my 5F1 clone and maybe that could be better. It's not bad but maybe a bit fizzy.
I had a valve jr with the eminence Lady Luck 8" and it was not bad. I sold that amp and the new owner loves it.
The other 10" speakers I have are black frame eminence in a fender hotrod Deville (97 year) maybe they are 'legend' series. Don't quote me. Anyway, that amp is cool. I have no gripes about those speakers.
I have a celestion tube 10 in my LW SE6L6. I don't think much of it.
I have a 12" Celestion GS in my ampeg jet and I'm ok with it.
I had a 12" carvin GT8 for a while which maybe wasn't the best but better than a Weber 12F150 I tried. I think that may have been damaged in transit though, it made weird noises.
They are the main ones. I have an old plessey Rola 12" which I like, and an old oval speaker in my Kreisler radio conversion which is nice, and a few other nondescript 8" speakers that are nothing special. I changed the speaker in my little pig nose but it wasn't the problem anyway. Yeah I think that's it.

So what do I like about them? It's pretty subjective. Some I hate because they break up in a bad way. Others are just kinda brite and nasty. Some, like the sig 8, are pretty smooth but break up happens progressively and can't keep up with the amp so the speaker is getting fizzy but the amp would deliver more. Or so it seems. That Tube 10 is bright and I just don't really like it. The crappy old G12s-50 celestion is kinda cool but I'm not quite sure how to describe it. Maybe it's like that Weber sig8 but bigger so the fizz is not so fizzy and nasal. It's just kinda big and with some bass. I dunno, so hard to describe speakers and harp. So many variables. Mics, amps, the way you set the amp up and how you play. I've even heard amps that sound great with high harps and dead with low harps but how do you know what is going on there.

Put a Cannabis Rex in my Blues Jr and it was a massive improvement. New owner seems to like it as well. Now I've got a 115 cab and looking to put a Big Ben in it.

to make this fit i am enlarging the holes on the chassis. that should give me just enough room to make this fit without causing interference. i would not go to all this trouble if i did not really like this speaker. an 8 inch low watt tone tubby.
i would love to try 4 of the 10 inch model in my bassman. but that just is not feasible.

Eminence Ragin Cajun. Big, bold, warm but with well defined highs and loud as hell! No breakup untill you really push them. Old Jensen P12Q for the traditional harp sound. Blue alnicos in the Bassman. They sound prefect to me. There's lots of good speakers. Depends on the amp also. What is good in one amp is not so good in another. Very Subjective and really kind of a useless topic, but hey, we all like to talk gear!

Lol Goldbrick, yea wrong speaker.
BN .. Good point. I suppose without the specifics it is rather useless.
So here's where I'm at.
I have this Little Vox AC4TV Mini. I love it, its really great for playing at home. It sounds really good and warm at really low volumes. But it just needs some tweaking as upper volumes are kinda useless because it basically has NO cleans. Not that I want a super clean amp, but i would like to be able to clean it up a little bit, aswell as have more use of the tone . So a quick swap to 12au7 tube should do the trick. I dont know a whole lot about amps, but ..... I would like to swap the speaker too ... the problem is that its a 16 Ohm 6.5" speaker. So it kindof limits my options.
So what ive been considering is building a Cab. A little 2 x 8. That way I have more options on speakers because I can get 8 ohm speakers and I can use them with mutiple amps aswell. I think I will wire them to be able to use it on 16 Ohm, 8 Ohm ( single speaker), and 16 ohm. ( Super Bees Idea, Thanks man.) But I want speakers that I can still use at home. So im not sure if this is the best Idea or not. Or what rating to look for to fit my needs. Perhaps I should just fit a 8" speaker into the amp and stick with 16 ohm. OR change the OT to 8 Ohm (or preferably multi tap while im at it)
So anyways thats where I'm at. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks ----------

I found this post, that might be of interest:
Vox AC4TV extension speaker info
I would like the more amp-tech knowledgeable among us to confirm that the info is good. If it is accurate, you could use the amp as a head with an 8 ohm extension and get more headroom and power, though you could not use the built in attenuator circuit safely.
If this is accurate, you could use the amp as is, perhaps with the 4 watt setting, but not turned up, for in house practice, and when you want to be louder, plug in the 8 ohm extension cab and get more loud headroom with less distortion. Perhaps a 12" Cannabis Rex? It is warm and well balanced.
For an amp that emphasizes high frequencies too much I like the 10" Lil' Buddy. ----------

.. the problem is that its a 16 Ohm 6.5" speaker.
i just looked the amp online and it says it has a 10 inch speaker. so i am a bit confused as usual.

1847 There are a few different models.
AC4TV = 10" AC4TV8 = *" AC4TV Mini = 6.5"
So that's probably where you got mixed up.
DougHarps. If I were to build an extension Cab I would use 2 8" speakers Ran in Series. This would give me 16Ohms. That way the amp would still be fully functional with the attentuator.
Thanks for that thread I'll have to dig into that one.
I have read a few threads on moddifying the AC4TV amps. But ofcourse they are all guitar related threads. So I have a good idea of what I want to do. I just want some input from those of you more experienced in the Harp side of things.
I also really dont know much about the speaker ratings. (im sure I could look this up aswell, but i would appreciate the advice.) What size rating would still allow me to play in the house without blowing the windows out. Trying to keep it fairly quiet.
But it would also be nice to be able to crank it when i need to.
Thanks again ----------

It is what it is. Leave it alone and buy a bigger amp for playing out. You'll be money ahead...BN
