i had a chance to play thru a quilter amp yesterday. i used a crystal mic into a kinder box, a soundman mysteriously showed up, and he mic"d it up as well. what i enjoyed the most was the overall sound level. for a bunch of jam hacks we almost sounded pro. "well almost"
during each set the bartender would walk up to the stage and since there was no tip jar, She would toss dollar bills in the air. as you can see from the photo.
it can be a challenge to make a small amp work. everyone needs to co-operate.
You sounded pretty good to me. Better than me, I admit. I used to jam with some longtime friends, but with them moving to wherever the wind blows doesn't help for a Saturday night gig at the local bar and grill spots where I live.
thanks for the comment, i was hoping for some feedback on the amp, it is always a challenge to make a small amp work. especially at an open jam session.
i did not have an issue hearing myself i had to really work the mic so it would not be too loud.
listen to how much space there is. i used a bit of restraint so as to not be just another annoying harmonica player.
check out the drummer, he has a genuine sense of time. he does not give me a chance for any excuses. lol
