Last January I participated in recording a cut for a local band's latest CD, "Don't Waste a Drop". The band is "Bones Jugs" (Formerly "Bones, Jugs, and Harmony) and they play a quirky kind of Americana, often with xylophone, jugs, bones, and various instrumentation including kazoos and bike horns. At this session the group plus a local guitar player, Sam Payne, and I recorded live and acoustic into a single mic, stepping in to solo or sing. The jug player got his own mic so he could be heard over the band. I was far older than any of the other musicians, and happy to have been solicited to contribute to the track.

It was recorded to sound like a live performance and each take varied, depending on each of the players at the time we played. No overdubs...

Here is the chosen track in all its rough glory:

These guys are a lot of fun to play music with. We met at our local Monday acoustic Hootenanny. You should check out the non-harp tracks, too! Available at CD Baby and other places, too.

I played at their CD release show, too.

Awesome! Sounded great. I'm familiar with this band through another jug band out of Michigan called Deep Fried Pickle Project.
