Well said Ted.
That's similar my thoughts. "Modern" meaning a modern take on traditional ideas. Like I said ... at some point everyone can be traced back to a traditional musical style. So i dont see why you have to be radically different to be "modern".
But that's just my view. ----------

I think modern blues implies the player at the very least started out playing blues. Paul DeLay certainly had his roots in blues, and often put on blues only shows. I could be wrong, but I don't think Popper ever did or does blues (sorry about whining about Popper, I just can't stand his playing). As far as players like Kim Wilson, I'd see him every week if I could. Everything about his playing is perfect. He can be innovative as well, if you catch him on the right night.

Man.. i just missed kim a few weeks ago. He was playing about 2 hours away. I should have made the trip, but it was on like a Wednesday. ----------
