Shows how to use a low harp, not sure, but I have always had problems hearing the low harps live, anyway he's still standing (not sitting in a chair lol)

Does he actually change harmonicas? Perhaps it's an octave shifter?

It's either an octave divider or a harmonizer.

He switches harps at 1:35.
He is also using an octave device, probably a multi effects, as he introduces some DSP sounds during the piece.

Lee occasionally uses special one of a kind tunings that are not offered to the public.

He also favors effects boxes.

Lee is also a painter. Not houses, but canvasses.

So draw is a dominant, but what is that blow chord?
Also dominant, but another color note--sixth?
I sampled that section and saved it to my desktop, can't play the harmonica right now--midnite!
I am all about special one of a kind tunings that are not offered to the public.
I bet if I called and asked him, he'd tell me!
Good night . . .

The two chords seem to be G7 (F G B) and C13! (Bb E A).
Got my attention . . .

he appears to be using 2 harps.

pretty sure one of them is a C harp
he could tune 8 blow down one step and get
the notes g c and d.

just guessing here. i am a bit intrigued.

I asked Kitt Gamble (he knows a lot about altered tunings), and he provided some clues--he thinks the normal C has hole 1 blow lowered to Bb (so Bb E G C ), and FGBDF inhale. I'm gonna try to duplicate this tuning if I can!

Hey Gnarly. I was always under the impression the tuning used for this tune was the same as the one Carlos Del Junco uses on his ''B thing'' track. I might be wrong though. I have played the number using it and it works.

@Gnarly, with that tuning, am I right that is has F as the 1 draw, Bb as the 1 blow?

That would mean that you theoretically bend through E-Eb-D-C#-C on the one draw? Sounds challenging, though I'm sure that Lee Oskar could!

Hello all--
I haven't carved up a harmonica yet to try to achieve that chord, but it's different!
Al, if you have a harp in the B thing tuning, is that chord available?

I can verify the tuning--at least the following:
| Bb f | E g | A b | C d |

I used a C SP20--
I wanted to replace draw 1 but found that keys higher than C were all short slot--so I tuned the D up to F.
I can't do much with hole one! Might be good for practice, try to hit the C LOL

Well, the D is actually the note to finesse on draw one, I think I'm gonna have to work the reeds a little bit (embossing etc.) to improve it if I want to produce that note.
The draw F gets played a lot in the Low Rider riff, comes in handy, and the draw chord is pleasing.
As far as all the other notes on hole one, I'm sure Steve Baker could play them intelligently, but I doubt if I could in this lifetime.

I'll second snowman that Lee Oscar is a trip to watch. I saw him at HarpFest in San Diego and what I noticed was his skill in being a band leader and a soloist, yet being able to step back and be part of the horn section or step even further back and support someone else's solo. Everything he did seemed geared to making the best sound possible come out of the band.
