I'm starting to play my guitar through a looper to back my harp. I found this amp. Is it a good trade up? He wants $525 but I've got him considering $125 + my Kalamazoo. My Zoo sounds great but I like the idea of more power and two channels. Plus the cabinet is way cooler looking than my brown-face Zoo.
Here is the listing with pics: http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/msg/5550017632.html
He says it sounds similar to a Premiere Twin 8 but not quite as gritty. He plays harp and uke through it or bridges it for harp-only. It appeals to me as I would have separate volume/tone controls for harp/guitar and its pushing 2 X 8" speakers with 12 watts. He says it was worked over by the best guitar tech in the Midwest. I need to go play it. About 90 miles away so looking for input.
Here is some info:
Nice Danelectro built Airline 2X8 amp. 60s era Rola speakers, 6X5, two 6V6s, two 12AX7A's tubes. Cab is tight, some wear on the Tolex, has original back. 2 channels with 2 inputs each, tone and volume controls, vibrato. Great little amp, plenty loud, terrific vintage tone, perfect for harp, nice for guitar. Quiet, good vintage tone and volume, lightweight, the perfect jam amp!
I can't find a schematic on the amp. Any idea as to how it might sound compared to a Zoo?
