Edit: Im Sorry Nate. Lol. I just got done reading your post. It was very good especially there at the end. I was attempting to drag out of people that very thing. Exactly what it is they don't like about him/his music. But i didnt quite get it. Not that i really care, but its just become such an issue. You can't even hardly bring him up with out this happening. Oh well. I'm bored with this.

Honestly i kinda wish he would come in here and call people out. That would be funny as shit. Lol.

Beginners perspective here.
I'm not really a big fan of his singing, but feel the same about almost everybodies singing. Instrumentals have always drawn me more than vocals. Maybe it's because my voice is so bad plants die when I sing.
Much of Jason's playing is so over my head and/or distorted, and/or fast that I just don't get it. Much of his stuff just blows me away. He has such passion and knowledge and skill that sometimes the tunes he plays just tear into you. Like it or not. Isn't that a big part of what the blues is?
The video in the original post that started all of this was awesome.
I'm not wearing my OP shorts right now. But might have been when this thread started.

Nice crawforde .. lol. I knew the OP shorts comment would cut deep ... lol.

Re the video. The Bad Kind is dope. I'm hoping to catch a live show with them sometime.

Re His Singing. I understand that as im picky aswell. And i know technically speaking his singing isnt great, but i kinda get where it derives from (atleast in my mind) punk singers often had that just mumbled kind of style. So it kinda reminds me of that.

Also Brad Nowell (sublime) often had a kindof punk derived singing voice sometimes (mostly as a result of nodding out on stage while singing ) But I dig his singing, but i understand why some may not.

As i said im not really a fan of the "traditional white guy blues sound" that so many have. It seems forced and boring most of the time. And im sure many would disagree with me, but ...

Cant Go wrong with instrumentals. Let the instruments do the talking. Most lyrics are tired anyway.
