Seydel markets the 1847 Silver as "dishwasher safe" to make the point that it is completely impervious to moisture, and will not rust or corrode. I guess this was meant as a joke, but it got me thinking: 1. would the dishwasher be an effective way to clean your Seydels? 2. would the temperature or pressure of the dishwasher affect the tuning or gapping?
Has anyone actually put an 1847 Silver in the dishwasher? Please share your experience...

I imagine the heat would play havoc with the screw alignment at the very least and the reeds...
Not keen to try. The ultrasonic cleaner warms up after a few rounds. Good enough for me. BronzeWailer's YouTube

Bronze .. screw alignment? What makes you say that? Just curious.
440 ... i think the heat would likely mess with the comb. The silver combs plastic would likely warp a bit. Maybe not, but i wouldn't try it. I think it would pay to not be lazy and just do it the right way. (Not calling you lazy. Just sayin.)
I really want one of those ultrasonic parts cleaners from Rockin Rons. People swear by em. And they are relatively cheap considering. I think about $60. ----------

Well, I put a used ebay silver through the wash and it came out just fine.Probably won't need to do it again but I wouldn't be afraid to.

Killa, I think the heat may expand the various parts and the screws might loosen with a combo of that and the agitation from the dishwasher. I got an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner from Aldi here in Oz for around $20 and it works fine.
