Steve, junior Watson on guitar, don't recognize the other guys. Ya they're good alright, well for my money anyway. I regularly see Steve play at Irene's, a bar here in Ottawa, but he's movin' to Toronto.....should be there by now I 'spose.
All of these were recorded at Amanda's Roller Coaster with an All-star band of many of Kim Wilson's sidemen at the time including Junior Watson, Mike Keller, Barrelhouse Chuck, Larry Taylor and Richard Innes. ---------- Thanks, Albey Scholl The Shadows Blind Willies Blues Club Atlanta, GA
Mike Keller(wearing eyeglasses) is on guitar. Lives in Austin, Plays w/ Tbirds, and plays with Paul Oscher on Thursday night, Paul's standing gig at,C-boy's Heart and Soul in Austin.
I'm in agreement with Sherwin. This is definitely Steve Marriner and this was before he and Tony D and Matt Sobb created their current band called Monkeyjunk. He's not only a great vocalist and killer harp player but he is an extraordinary guitarist and plays a lot of other instruments. Blues fans in Ottawa are fortunate to have such talented musicians entertaining us locally. Monkeyjunk is currently touring eastern Europe.
Philly was my best bet. They Have stuff going on. But alot of the guys from philly don't seem to play there much anymore. Steve Guyer, etc. But i have only really been paying attention for the last year or so. Maybe it s just been slow .. lol. Idk. Mark hummel was just here.
Delaware has a few blues fests comin up. Two big ones. One of which i was the sound tech for back when it first started. John Nemeth and a bunch of others will be there. Salgado is coming in May i think. So there's a few things, but i want a place i can just go whenever I'm feelin froggy, ya kno
Theres probably alt more stuff that i realise. I just don't get out much anymore.
@Killa: I saw that Hummel was just there - I missed him by one day...hopefully next time. I do environmental permitting for an independent electric power company, and we are working on developing a transmission line project out there. I heard there is a Thursday night blues jam at the Jonathan's Landing golf course clubhouse (northeast of Dover I think). Have you ever checked that one out?
No i haven't. I will though. There are two blues groups ive been meaning to him up with and see what they have goin on. One for Newcastle county i think and one for Kent County. The one guy from the blues club had been bringing a lot of good acts to the st georges inn.
Plus we have two big blues fests coming perry soon.
