I am sure that you all have a favourite carrying method for your harps. There are all kinds of bags, bandolier belts, carrying satchels and deep pockets of cargo pants to name a few popular ones. But that said, there is probably not a case available that will please everyone's discerning tastes or requirements. I must say, I just received one that damn near fills the bill for everyone and it's made by one of our most interesting posters, Michelle LeFree. I have a gig bag with so much stuff in it, I can't find a harp in a hurry on stage nor at home. I have a Hohner gig satchel and it holds 7 harps. (Not enough room) I have 2 or 3 harps in my pants pockets all the time. Can't seem to find the right key fast enough. Now I finally have the right solution for this dilemma!
The "Compact 14" from SilverWingLeather.com It's 6.5" wide x. 4" tall x 3" deep. It sits open nicely on my Memphis Mini and gives me immediate access to 14 harps. Each harp has a stick-on placed on the end so as to easily see the keys available. It is a well thought out, beautiful leather product with functionality for us harp players. It costs about as much as a Thunderbird or a couple of Crossovers at $130. And it will keep your harp investment safe as well as handy on stage. I thankyou ever so much Michelle for a terrific product and excellent customer attention. It has been a pleasure to do business with you!

I have many cases that I have put together and they hold a lot of diatonic and chromatics. My current one holds 56 diatonics and a few chromatics. The reason I have so many is that I play in different tunings: dorian minor, natural minor, harmonic minor, a blues tuning, normal richter tuning, hajiz tuning, arabic tuning, Paddy Richter tuning etc. I play blues, jazzy blues, mid eastern, Japanese, Chinese and whatever else I come up with so I need a lot of harps. A necessity is that my diatonic stand vertically and are positioned from each other so they will not fall down. I have had boxes built with a grid work that I can pick up and place in a case that corresponds to the dimension of the partitioned box. There is never enough room, I always carry duplicates of a lot of keys just in case.

This guy is pretty friendly, and his cases look pretty cool. How come we didn't hear of him when Slim closed down?

I have a couple of Seydel's 14 harp cases that fit the bill very nicely for my needs. The Lee Oskar 7 harp case has a nice pocket for the harps that don't match the 10 hole profile, but it's not big enough to carry 7 more harps. The 7 harp case that Hohner provides with those 5 harp SP20 & MB deals they put together.
That's the stuff I'm using these days.
