I pulled an element out of a 90s Hohner Blues Blaster with the XLR connector. The element had MC 127 cast on the element but did not usual MC-151 sticker attached. Is it possible this is an actual MC-127 or did my sticker fall off at some point? It sounds like a 151 to me but I can't say I've heard a lot of MC-127s.

It is an MC151. Hohner never used MC127's in BluesBlasters.

MC-127's sound a little darker and have less output than an MC151.

the 127 sounds similar to the 151 but it is its own thing.

While the BB's were still being made by Astatic (now known as CAD), I was on the phone with them in the late 90's and they told me that some of the earlier BB's did have a ceramic, but those were very rare and more frequently until the very late 80's, they had 250K pots in them rather than the 500K pots they used under the Astatic name and the BB's after the late 80's, which they told me that they did purposely to give them a somewhat different sound. Some of the crystals made from 1984-1987 weren't very good, but still better than the crap that's being used now.
