There are pedals that go well together, and they work in tandem to build the layers of your sound. Then there are pedals that hate each other, like Siamese fighting fish in the same bowl.
For instance, I was messing with a RotoSphere, and clicked on the Boss DM2 delay. It seemed to make the overall tone trebley, with a brittle glimmer.
Which effects LOVE each other? Which effects need to be kept apart? Heath

EXCELLENT QUESTION! That is the trick--finding pedals that work well together and with your particular amp and mic. Some pedals used in combination produce wonderful sounds that are not achievable with a single pedal. But it's difficult to generalize since it depends on what sounds you are looking for and what type of mic and amp you use. My Super Reverb does not get along well with certain pedals even though those pedals may get along well with each other. True Bypass helps A LOT. The TC Electonics Flashback Delay is not the best delay, but it is among the most useful because it gets along well with most other pedals and amps. Xotic EP Booster and MXR Microamp Plus get along well with a wide range of pedals. LW Harp Break does not because it alters the gain structure of the signal too radically. In this regard, the ORDER of the effects in the chain makes a significant difference. It's very much a trial and error thing. But behind the H&K I'd try the MXR Carbon Copy or the TC Flashback set on tape. One or the other of those should sound good.
One trick I use is to employ the EP Booster set on vintage and with the db boost off as an always on preamp at the end of the chain right before the delay. Because the EP reverses the phase of the signal, it is very effective as a preamp to blend everything before delay is applied and the blended signal hits the amp.
I have different pedal boards for different amps:
545 Ultimate> TC Helix Phaser> EHMicroPOG> Strymon Lex> TC Vortex Flanger> EP Booster> MXR Carbon Copy Delay> Peavey Delta Blues 1x15 w/on board reverb.
545 Ultimate> EH MicroPOG (w/Analogman true bypass mod)> Hammond Leslie G Pedal> TC Vortex Flanger> EP Booster> Wampler Faux Analog Echo> Fender SRRI 4x10 w/on board reverb.
Can't use the EH MP with the SRRI without the TB mod because without the mod it causes feedback. The MXR CC claims to be TB but it's not. It works best with the non-TB EH MP in front of it otherwise you get tone suck if you disengage the CC. The buffer in the MP prevents that tone suck. MXR CC does not get along well with my Super. The Wampler causes feedback with some Amps but is perfect with the Super.
I have a little utility board I can use with any amp, usually for sideman gigs where I'm not using effects per se, but just want to be able to adjust the tone and timbre of the amp.
545 Ultimate> MXR Micro Amp Plus> EP Booster> TC Flashback Delay> whatever.
Now since the EP Booster messes with the phase it can be problematic if it's anyplace other than the end of the chain right before the delay. But in that position it plays nice with just about any others.

my lone wolf terminator "seems" to be having an issue with my kinder antifeedback pedal.
i say "seems" too... because i have not narrowed it down yet. both pedals are designed to go first in the chain, and there may be some sort of conflict.
