Wet Willie and Fastastic Frontman Jimmy Hall made the Alabama Music Hall of Fame last week. I know everybody in here knows Jimmy Hall, but just in case... Back in the day the labels called it southern rock but a lot of us knew blues when we heard it. Jimmy Hall is still at it and better than ever.

I bet that was (understatement warning!) a good show.

Which of the Allman Bros played harp, do you know? There's some excellent harp on a couple of Live at Fillmore East cuts.

That was pretty cool, never heard of him before. Anyone know what key he plays this in?

Good stuff and it seems odd that I don't remember hearing them back in the 70's. I think it takes more than just skill and talent to get the national recognition. They are pretty good and I really like the harp work.

I'd never heard of Wet Willie before either but I'm glad I have now. That was nice harp work.

For those of you who are just tuning in, Wet Willie's big hit was "Smilin' in the Rain", more of a blue-eyed soul/pop number that featured a simple, clean but very memorable harp solo and Jimmy Hall's exceptional vocals. I used to go hear his band in Nashville "Jimmy Hall and the Prisoners of Love" in the 80's. Best bar band in town. In addition to his powerhouse vocals, Jimmy was playing great harp, clean or dirty, and was a good tenor sax player as well. Blowhead, any idea what he's up to now?

This was the hit single.

He's also frontman for Jeff Beck. Plays sax just as well as harp. Currently frontman for Jeff Beck. I think he does some R&B cruises with Delbert also.
