My dad used to go around the country giving speeches for his job. He had a tabletop Lecternette with a fold-down podium to put his papers on. I now have it, and one day decided to plug one of my bullet mics into it and see how it sounded for harp. And WOW! To my ears it has an old Masco type sound, it's perfect for low volume gigs. For higher volume gigs, I can run it in tandem with a Fender amp for more volume and low end. Has anyone else played through one of them. I have some clips of how it sounds. My band mates have nicknamed it "the junk" since it just drips with great tone and nastiness.

I purchased one of these at a pawn shop a couple of yrs back for $50.As you said it is a low volume unit but it does have a nice tone to it as far as what I can remember,I.ll have to pull it out and try it again.I actually bought it for busking as it runs on ac or dc which is a really nice feature.I was thinking of making some baffles and trying some vintage 6 by 9 ovals in it as the existing speakers appeared to look like 5 inch radio type speakers from what I remember.I think the swap would make a big difference.
