Just wanted to give a shout out to everybody regarding Joe Spiers new business model. Joe's reputation for quality work is unsurpassed and now with his new menu of services...it is available to everybody! After communicating with Joe regarding my playing style, I just had 6 Marine Band Deluxes, customized at the "Pro Stock " level. I didn't know what to expect since until now I played out of the box harps. Well the difference is like night and day, the only downside is they render my box full of stock Deluxes and Crossovers virtually unplayable! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some of these fine instruments. Joe is a true craftsman, has great attention to detail and customer service that can't be beat. Please note, I am just an extremely happy paying customer, not an endorsed pro. Check out: spiersharmonicas.com Thanks, Jon

I know what you talking about! I have two stage 2 harps and 1/2 dozen stage 1 that are close to two years old and still going strong.
Jon, send me an email, your email gets returned. Joe F., NV

Someday I am going to get a couple of Joe's Harps. I think half my frustration comes from trying to play harps that just simply won't play. I have been trying just to simply gap my harps for 4 years, and I just can't get it. It shouldn't be that hard, but it is for me for some reason. So I have come to the conclusion that I will now never buy another harp from the store, I will use what I have until I get the money to buy a few of the keys I use most from Joe. I have only heard good things about him, so he will be my guy when it comes time.

Well, Jon, now you've got me all excited like a little kid waiting right before her birthday. I've got a G Special 20, also a Pro-Stock, at Joe's shop as we speak.

Harpaholic I checked my records, you bought a C and low F tuned and gapped 5 years ago, for 55 each including the harps. The others are even older work, I think around '08? Glad they're holding up! ---------- www.spiersharmonicas.com Harp repair and upgrade menu

Wow, time flys!! I do remember the C and LF was my last purchase, didn't realize it had been that long.
Also bought an F, D, and A, and G that you said where close to stage 1, and before that A and C stage 2. If I remember correctly you hand picked the best candidate Sp20's and you threw in some embossing.
All harps tuned to 7 limit JI with 7 draw tuned down a 1/2 step.
My memory isn't totally gone, ha! ha!
By the way, nice record keeping!

Joe, are you repairing and customizing all Hohner diatonics? Rockets, Crossovers, etc: Are you repairing/customizing any other brands such as Seydel, Suzuki?
I have a few newer harps that I want hot rodded and one or two repairs, all Hohners.

Deluxe, crossover, sp20, rocket. No MS series and I really don't like dealing with GMs. As long as it says Hohner Affiliated Customizer on the site, I only work on Hohners:) ---------- www.spiersharmonicas.com Harp repair and upgrade menu

Joe, I understand the importance of your affiliation and respect your loyalty. Fortunately I just want work done on Hohners.
I lost your email when I got a new phone, are you willing to post it here or would you prefer I use your website method?

I just read how Joe Filisko selected Joe Spiers to be Hohners affiliate. Which means his custom harps met or exceeded Joe Filisko's standards.
That's quite an honor and a testament to his work.
Congratulations Joe!

I have had Joe do work when I was starting out on a bunch of SP20's...I still use them and they play like butter. He even put marine band covers on them with opened backs which make them sound great. No OOTB harp comes close to what you receive from Joe even at his entry level setups. He has also done some other work on crossovers and such...They all come back playing great! Joe will be sending you some more work in the near future.

Joe why don't you like working on Golden Melodies? Is it the comb or the reed plates? ----------

Most of the ones I get have issues that take a lot more time to straighten out, because I'm very particular about things. I don't want to talk about it on here:) Different strokes for different folks. ---------- www.spiersharmonicas.com Harp repair and upgrade menu
